Recently a friend pointed me towards a youtube video, a video of a guy that tells his -I’m guessing- father, that he still loves him, then his father starts to cry, an odd wailing sort of cry that made me laugh quite a lot. Then he directed me towards the same video, however this time it had Guiles music from Street Fighter 2 over the top, with the claim that Guiles music makes everything better. So then I emailed some friends these videos as they made me laugh quite a lot, and some of my friends said the videos weren’t funny at all. One friend even said “laughting at someones crying is an unhealthy egoistic detatchment in which i am not into.” The people that weren’t into it are predominantly Portuguese, all my English friends find the video very funny.

I don’t think there is anything wrong at all with laughing at it, really I wasn’t laughing at someone’s tears, I was laughing at the style of crying, which is kinda unique, and it being a really heartfelt moment there comes this odd wailing cry, takes you by surprise, and it makes you/me laugh.
I’d be interested to know what you thought about the crying, if you laughed, if you felt bad laughing, if you thought it was terrible that someone could laugh and so on.
