i just finished to read, thanks fo share the visions of your moving mind from
the point of view of the witness. Life is a wonderfull movie, expecilally when it turns
a bit difficult or painfull! We are the same being in different bodies, plants, rocks, objects,

i like the way you have told this story – the alternations between external and internal experience are a great way to hold a reader’s interest – but some of your paragraphs are gargantuan! (the photos make up for it, easily)

i take great pleasure in reading about your open-minded and rational enquiries about these things – this is the way to really understand, i think – listen, question, learn, experiment, contemplate – brilliant!

most of what you say about the mind fits with my own experiences of meditation, except for one detail in the interpretation – true, the inner voice is not the self – but neither is the ‘watcher’

the self is not a part of us, it is the whole of us (including what appears to be the outside world, since that is also constructed in the mind) – the self can be experienced as a complete and simple thing in meditation, when the watcher, the watching and the watched merge – like it says in the upanishads

i have to say though, that fascinating though that state of mind (i mean samadhi) may be, i’ve found it to be more or less useless – contemplation (dhyana) on the other hand is a priceless tool – the leatherman of the mind!

great Photographs, I especially like the one of the two lorries, when you enlarge it you can clearly see the long line of other vehicles on the road behind, amazing.
The story too is amazing although I am struggling with the mind thing, maybe I am too old and set in my ways.

Hey Indie. Great to hear from you, and a wonderful story. India is a great land. It’s good to read about some meditation practice and I love your comment about how when we are children trying to sleep we watch in wonder at the mind. It’s amazing how we loose this faculty as we age. And since leaving india, I’ve lost a lot of my meditation practice. It’s great to read these stories, it reminds me of india, and gives me motivation to remember my being. It’s so easy to get caught up in things. I’m in Oxford if you ever want to come and share some stories when you are back!
