Stories from the end of India

Again i’ve been a bit slack on the ole writing front, also I needed to pay the people that host my site some more money, so I didn’t want to upload before this time, why…I dunno, since I knew I was gonna pay them, I should start selling something on my site, just a little bit of something to get some cash to pay for the site, it aint free you know!!

So, i’m now in Israel! Left India last week last month (i wrote this 3 weeks ago, just editing it now!), went from Bagsu in the mountains on a bus to Delhi, from there on a train to Jaipur (which I recently hear has had some bombings, terrorist ones!) in the neighboring state, and from there on a plane to the United Arab Emirates and a 7 god damn hour wait at the airport, where I got told off for pushing two chairs together to make a place to lie down and maybe sleep a little, in doing this I was simply copying a woman that had done it, and was enjoying a lot of sleep it looked like, so after I saw her do it, I did it, but no, it was ok for a woman to do it, but not a man……anyway… After that long long wait I got on another flight to Jordan, there I got in a taxi to the Israeli border, crossed the border with a lot of questions (“What was I doing in Jordan” “What am I doing in Israel” “Have I ever been to Iran, Pakistan, Lebbanon, Iraq, Afganistan and any of the other Muslim countries” (here I thought it best not to say i’d been to Indonesia) “has anyone given me anything to carry across the border” and many other questions elaborating on the already asked questions) and a complete emptying of my bag by the Israeli border police, I was finally let into Israel, I got a taxi to the nearest town, and caught a bus to Tel Aviv, to eventually meet Lee after traveling for pretty much 4 days with only about 4 hours sleep in a proper bed in Delhi, I felt great though! I was beginning to think that I really didn’t need sleep, that I could just close my eyes for an hour or so here and there, seemed to be working and I was in very high spirits :D I love to do these massive burns across the world. On a similar kind of thing, I recently checked the flights to Australia where I THINK im going next, and its cheapest for me to get on a plane here in Tel Aviv, fly to Jordan, change for a flight to Bangkok, change in Bangkok for a flight to Hong Kong, change there for a flight to Sydney, it would take about 30 hours, dunno why thats the cheapest way, if thats the cheapest though thats what i’ll do! Some other silly thing, when I flew into Jordan I had to pay 10 Dinares for a visa, of course I didn’t have 10 Dinares, I didn’t have any money! So I asked the direction to the nearest ATM to get some local cash, the ATM was through customs and I got told I couldn’t go through there without a visa, hmmmmm reminded me of that Alice Cooper song where he can’t get a car cos he aint got a job, and he can’t get a job cos he aint got a car (then theres a similar line with a gun and school, but I don’t know what that ones all about, anyway..) After some panick, and some explaining someone escorted me through customs whilst I got some cash from the machine, very goood! All visa’d out I proceeded to leave the country swiftly.

Last time I wrote I was in Jodpur.

Some left over pictures from Jodpur that are worthy of putting up here. A pretty dancing girl that Jossi had a dance with whilst I played that guys wonky violin thing.

This is Jodpur fort, one of the most preserverd and looked after things I saw in India (I’ve not been to the Taj Mahal yet). I took a lot of pictures of this fort, and many of Jodpur from the fort.

More fort!

IND_7487_resize.jpg IND_7490_resize.jpg
Even more fort!

IND_7497_resize.jpg IND_7500_resize.jpg
Super even more fort! Including a picture of the disco room.

IND_7502_resize.jpg IND_7506_resize.jpg
Amazing super even more fort!!

IND_7508_resize.jpg IND_7509_resize.jpg
Wow amazing super even more fort!!! That the last of em.

It was very hot in Jodpur! Too hot! So we left there and went to a place called Bikanir which was even hotter. Me and Jossi got a double room with airconditioning and made ourselves sick with icy cold recirculated air. The only point in coming to this town was to go to a nearby temple, which was home to many inbred rats that for some reason the locals thought were reincarnations of song writers!

Some dead rats there, suprisingly there wern’t so many dead rats, I think that someone takes em away now and then….or they are eaten by the other rats.

IND_7525_resize.jpg IND_7529_resize.jpg
Rats rats everywhere!!

IND_7540_resize.jpg IND_7542_resize.jpg
Eating corn and drinking milk!

They fed the rats (cow) milk and coconuts and other good things on a daily basis, they were everywhere, many of them had huge protrusions where there testicles should be, maybe they were the testicles, I think it was something to do with the stale gene pool they were living in, all inbred and what not.

The rats were all over, even above you on ledges. There’s one with the funny testicle thing going on.

Some of them were cute looking, got to see a few having funny looking fist fights, standing up on their hind legs and whacking each other in the face with their little rat paws.

Lookademdrinkinmiilllllllk! Awwwww!!!!

We also got to see an albino rat! Which supposed to be very lucky if you see one, its just an albino though, Roy Orbison was an albino by the way, he dyed his hair black to hide it, did anyone have any luck peeping that sun glassed one? We left the rat temple kinda quickly, it wasn’t all to great, and we craved our sickening air conditioned room. We caught a local bus to and from the temple, it was kinda funny, it was very full, and of course hot. We were blabbering on to all the locals, taking pictures of them, making them all laugh. It was good to be back at the hotel at the end of it all, so god damn hot!

IND_7559_resize.jpg IND_7566_resize.jpg
MMMMMMMore drinking miiiiilk! Thats the full, hot, smelly, local bus we caught.

We spent the rest of the day in the air conditioned room, not much else to do in that town. At some point we did go for a wander around when it was dark, had a couple of games of Karom (a bit like pool but with casino like chips on a smooth board, and you flick the white with your finger) with some locals, a man showed us some porn on his mobile phone, a baby cow chased us a little bit, we hitched a ride on a camel and cart, almost bought some massive fireworks and then we went back to our icy room again.

From Bikanir we decided to head straight to the mountains, we could have gone through Delhi, but it wasn’t the most direct route, so we headed towards the mountains checking a map whenever we found one since neither of us had a guide book or a map! I did have a compass however. We went to a town called Kalka by train, got told there that we need to get back on another train and go a few stops back to get a bus to Dharam Sala, so thats what we did even though it didn’t seem to make sense. From this town we got in a rickshaw and asked to be taken to the bus station so we could get a bus to Dharam Sala, the rickshaw driver took us to a building that had Dharam Sala written on it, we explained that we wanted to go to the bus station, he said “Aaaaah!” then took us to a hotel called the Dharam Sala. From here we were told to go to bus station 43, we went there and got told that we need to go to bus station 27, we went there and found the bus that we wanted with 30 mintues to spare, good ole crazy Indian bastards.

So I ended up in Bhagsu again, it was really nice to be back, back at Vickys guesthouse where I stayed last time, they were all very happy to see me, and Jossi really loved Bhagsu, felt right at home staying at Vickies. We slept the best we had in a long time due to the cool evening air (sometimes cold evening air, a bit too cold, and wet!) I didn’t do so much there, just relaxed, and enjoyed my last week in India, then I left Bhagsu for Delhi to make my way to Israel.

Thats the end of this post, I’m gonna post it then start to write the next one, I think by the end of today i’ll (hopefully) have put about 4 new posts on my site, thought it best like this, chop it all up into smaller bits eh.

Look forward to reading all your comments, sorry its been so long since I wrote.
