Hello, my name is Indie and im from Manchester, in England, the United Kingdom of Great Britain. This site of mine has lots of photos on, and words from my very own hands and mind and memories. I’ve only recently come back to Manchester after traveling around for some months, having a lovely ole time as you can probably find out from reading more here.
So yeah, i’m back in Manchester, only for a few months like, then im off to Oz (Australia) to work. I’ve not put a post up since being back, and also I didn’t do one for ages anyway, cos my computer was all messed up so I couldn’t write (thats right, without a computer I can’t write). Anyway, the places I was before coming back to England were some of the most amazing places i’ve seen in my life, all in the Himalayas, the scenery up there is constantly changing as you move around, from deserts to green valleys, from sand dunes to snow peaked mountains, I really really really really liked it.
Massive amount of pictures follows!
Click here to see where I was in the Himalayas (the little town Leh was where I spent a lot of time)

Mountains wear clouds like hats I found out. And that lovely looking place in the next picture is the northern end of the Kulu valley (the green is the Kulu Valley).

Some baby mountains there, didn’t get to see them being born, and didn’t get to close, they can be very violent new born mountains. And a human skull, looks like a goat skull but its not.

A terrible terrible thing, a baby mountain is forced with mountain knives to balence rocks on its head for the entertainment of rich russians, this stunts the mountains and they never quite grow so big, poor poor bastards. And these people milling around in the middle of nowhere are waiting for the bridge to be fixed further along the road (I held my breath and paused for death as we went over the newly fixed bridge).

I really like this first picture, because you can see what the water from the waterfall has done to the land around it. And some funky looking rock coloured by minerals in water, it was hot water as well, busting freshly from the ground with the lovely smell of eggs.
I was traveling at this point with Tobi, Lee
and Hadas, (two isreali girls and a swedish guy). Was a lot of fun, we were a good group, knitting a lot, reading, going to bed early, getting up early, all very wholesome stuff.

Saw this Moravian School in Leh, its a form of Christianity that doesnt follow much written doctrine, sounds not so bad really, as religions go, but what are they doing all the way in the mountains? Must have gotten lost or somthing. And see them guys eating there?! You’d just move wouldn’t you.

Some local flora, first from Leh, second:D was around Manali. 2 Quite far apart places united here by my pictures which are only grouped together cos they are plants.

To get to Leh took 2 days on a bus, with a small sleep in a small town along the way, and a lot of the way was along mountain passes where on one side you have the mountain going up, and on the other it goes down! Its not uncommon to see bust up vehicles on the down side…. A handy tip is use local busses as apposed to tourist busses, the local bus drivers have been doing it for years day in day out, they know what they’re doing. And some of the landscape, if you manage to get your mind off imminent death its quite quite beautiful.

We went to a Tibetan school, all these kids are Tibetans although they aint in Tibet, probably never been to Tibet and never will, but the’re Tibetans ok! Next picture: OLD MAN COMETH! REPENT REPENT!

This is Hadas, Lee
and Ash, all good good people
And there’s more people!! We were buying sweets.

A yak!!! Apparently Yaks can’t live below 3000m or something, to MUCH oxygen for them, so you’ll never see a Yak in England, lap this picture up if you aint gonna go above 3000m! And some hovering bird, quite nice to watch.

That little cubicle was a toilet, the only toilet around really, and you can’t really see it, but inside was what i’ve been calling a “pooamid”, so I didn’t use the toilet as the “pooamid” was just to big already, I opted to poo outside down the ditch to the right of the cubicle, all the Indians went there so I thought if its good enough for them its good enough for me. And look!! Don’t worry she aint malignant! She’s benign girl!! “Don’t worry about that lump down there, its benign!” Hoorah!!!

Some spectacularly spectacular especially special views……..two of them…….above this.

I played some Squarepusher drum and bass to these mountain people, and they loved it!!!

Hadas showing a video of the mountain people listening to my headphones to the very same mountain people……that listened to my headphones. And Hadas covered in mud.

Tobi Halfhead, and Tobi killer hands trance stance dance prance.

Some more mountain people that lived around here

In the link above this (the link to google maps) theres a big black elongated blob, and its this lake!! Its called Tsmoriri lake and its very special, its a high altitude lake (or a HAL as they’re called, told you its a special lake) and its 4600m high and its slightly brackish, so whatever lives in it is only suited to live in that lake. Its all a protected area around it as well.

Some landscape going on here, both these features were around Lake Tsmorir, the second picture has a lake, some sand dunes and some snow capped mountains in it!! All them 3 features in one view!!

Whilst going to Lake Tsmoriri we got told we will stop off at some hot springs, for a little swim if we wish they said, when we got there the water was boiling out of the ground, it would have taken my skin off if I were to go in there.

These animals were around that lake as well, the first ones are called Kiang’s they look like a horse or an ass but they’re not, ok. And the second is a Himalayan Marmot, they look like beavers, but they’re not, ok.

Lee
got sick from the altitude so she wasn’t very happy, we ran over a Marmot and then she was happy.

The thing in the first picture is called a Stupa, think of it as a church that you don’t go inside, cos you can’t, the squiggles arn’t squiggles you ignorant so and so, they are prayers, and another human skull (not a goats skull!!!). These flags are everywhere, nothing to do with gay pride, they are prayer flags.

Going to Lake Tsmoriri we passed over this, the second highest motorable pass in the world!! Then a few days after getting back from the lake, we went to Nubrah Valley, and to get there we had to go over the highest pass in the world!! Hoorah!! So this finger is for you second highest pass, you just could’nt quite cut the mustard could you eh? Looser!

This is John, he’s from Liverpool, and when he saw that these sheep were really scared, even at just the sight of us, he went inside their pen and chased them around a little bit for our entertainment *snicker*.

These camels were around Nubrah Valley. Look at there silly faces!! and the second one looks really silly! Silly lady like features, silly silly animals.

I feel that these are pretty self explanatory, so I wont explain them.

Its Lee:D having a good ole think, and Lee trying on some new horns.

Some more Tibetan Prayer Flags! They were everywhere!! If they wern’t prayer flags they would be litter.

A kid with makeup on, lots of it as well. And Daper Dan! Indians idea of cool is different than ours, and this man in India is cooler than we will ever ever be! (more so you lot than me).

This is the old palace in Leh, it aint used any more and there was poo all over the place, cost just over a pound to get in, but we didn’t go in.

Some views from Leh, from the hill with the old palace on, you can see all that green eh, pretty sweet place, in the middle of loads of desert, theres this big patch of green going on!

Some more views from upon high, first one is Leh centre, the second is Leh’s old town.

A cow that was in Leh, and a couple of bulls having a fight in the bus station in Leh.

An arch in Leh, and the market area in Leh. (Leh’s got it going on)

There’s Tobi and Lee looking cool as, and Lee on her own looking very “street”.

A religious spinner, spin it to say a prayer, its got a prayer written on that big thing so when you spin it the prayer goes round, therefore being said. And there’s another Stupa, this one is in Leh.

Lee is behind a fence, the fence was there to keep people out, it didn’t keep her out!! And some tom foolery going on with Lee and Tobi.
And thats all the new photo’s I can be bothered putting up, quite a lot really though innit. I guess I could start regailing you with tales from Manchester, or even Denton, accompanied with photos, so keep on checking maybe there will be!! Oooh also if you have bothered to read all this way down you may notice im asking for people to buy me a beer, it takes you straight to paypal, its for donations, all gladly accepted and spent on beer.
